Get ready to indulge in the unique taste of the Ice Cream ‘Blue Java’ banana, a fruit that stands out with its creamy texture and hints of vanilla flavor. Reminiscent of ice cream in both taste and consistency, these bananas captivate with their unusual blue-tinged peels when unripe, ripening to a soft, silvery blue.

Variety:

  • Blue Java (Zones 8-10)

With plenty of space, ample sunshine, and rich, well-drained soil, you can enjoy the beauty of a banana tree in your yard during your area’s growing season year-after-year. To grow a banana plant successfully you must provide generous amounts of organic matter, potassium and nitrogen, constant warmth and moisture, consistent humidity, and dark, fertile soil. If you live in a cooler climate, plant these warm-weather plants in containers so that you can move them indoors before freezing temperatures arrive.
