Delphinium
This perennial is a favorite pollinator plant and a welcome addition to the garden with its elegant spires of electric blue blooms, a color rarely found in other perennials! This particular variety forms a low, bushy mound of lacy green leaves.
Care Instructions
Grow in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to light shade, with shelter from strong winds. Delphiniums prefer moist, cool summers and do not fare well in hot, dry weather. Gentle morning sun is preferable to delphiniums, which are picky about extreme differences in temperatures. Provide afternoon shade, especially when planted in hotter zones. Water plants during the summer if rainfall is less than 1″ per week. Hardiness zones range from 3-7.
