Gaillardia
Gaillardia, the “blanket flower”, is a wonderfully colorful and long-blooming native wildflower that is a perfect match for low-water landscapes. It is an easy-to-grow perennial with richly, red-colored blooms.
Care Instructions
Gaillardias should be planted in a location that has full sun exposure and well-drained soil. After planting, water frequently (about every other day) until you see the flowers. Once established, gaillardia is extremely drought-tolerant. It can go without watering unless there are extremely hot and dry conditions, then it’s best to water the bed once or twice per week. Avoid overwatering. Hardiness zones range from 3-10.
