Vibrantly colored and easily recognizable, lavender is one of the most versatile herbs you can grow. It makes a stunning addition to borders and perennial gardens, providing sweeping drifts of color from early summer into fall.

Growing lavender is a great choice for hot and dry climates, but it also works for containers that can be brought indoors. Find a spot with full sun for your lavender plants or consider growing them in containers; these plants take well to pots. Make sure the soil is light and drains well. Your lavender will not need a lot of water and will tolerate droughts well. Hardiness zones range from 7-9.
